Dangal is an extraordinary true story based on the life of Mahavir Singh and his two daughters, Geeta and Babita Phogat. The film traces the inspirational journey of a father who trains his daughters to become world class wrestlers.
Aamir Khans Dangal has finally released on Friday and it has ended the lull at the box office. For the longest time, following the demonetization, films werent running to full plexes as India ran cashless for around a month. Situations are returning to normalcy now.Dangal has collected Rs 29.78 crores on first day. The film is expected to cross Rs 100 crores in first weekend. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared, “#Dangal wrestles demonetisation, Sets the BO on fire. Ends the lull phase Fri ? 29.78 cr [incl ? 59 lacs from Tamil and Telugu].”This also means that Dangal will be Aamirs second highest opening day figure, following Dhoom 3 which raked in Rs 32.48 crore on Day 1. It has even surpassed Aamirs PK which collected Rs 25.45 crore on its first day at the BO.
